Monica was born and raised in Miami, Florida of Cuban parents. She is the proud daughter of a former Police Lieutenant.
Monica attended Our Lady of Lourdes Academy (OLLA) and then went on to the University of Miami (UM) where she completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication in Broadcast Journalism and Criminology, with Magna Cum Laude distinction in 2002 (completing undergrad in three years). Monica went on to the University of Miami School of Law and graduated in 2005.
She has dedicated herself to civil practice working at several distinguished law firms, and has continued her career working in-house for an insurance carrier. Monica will also be an Adjunct Professor at St. Thomas University College of Law this summer and continue participating in the mentoring of young students by teaching Appellate Advocacy.
Monica also served as Special Master/ Magistrate for the Town of Miami Lakes for about four years. Given her vast dedication to the community, Monica is now ready with your support to become your next Circuit Court Judge.
In her time off, when she is not volunteering at various bar organizations or coaching students for moot court competitions, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young son. Monica is also an active participant at her Church.
